West Coast Provisions
Glen Allen, VAAlways on the hunt for the perfect calamari, I was thrilled to find that West Coast Provisions delivered. Their version was crispy, tender, and paired with an excellent sauce—easily a 10/10.
For entrées, the Maui Mahi sauce was flavorful, though the fish was slightly overcooked. However, the crab cakes were impressively dense with minimal filler.
Isle of Capri
Virginia Beach, VAPerched on the top floor of the Holiday Inn, this is a hidden gem combining Italian cuisine with panoramic ocean views.
The scallops were seared beautifully, and the filet practically melted in the mouth. Service was a bit slow, but the view made the wait easier to overlook.
Los Panchos
Short Pump, VAA consistent, no-frills spot for classic Mexican fare. The Pollo 57 was a bit salty this time, but the pork carnitas were flavorful and tender.
Portions were generous and chips were fresh. Margaritas were basic but did the trick.
Sushi-O
Midlothian, VAThe Best Sushi in Richmond. Co-owner Andy knows sushi inside and out. The fish is bright, buttery, and beautifully prepared.
Make sure to try the 007 Roll—it is packed with flavor and silky texture.
Turning Point
Glen Allen, VAA cozy breakfast spot with great coffee. The staff is warm and friendly. While food can take a little longer to arrive, the quality is worth it.
The pancakes are massive and fluffy. The Belgian waffles have crisp edges and are light on the inside.
Thai Thai II
Bethlehem, PAA cozy BYOB with hits and misses. The Chicken Pad Thai was a 7/10 (chicken was a bit dry), but the Green Curry was a perfect 10/10.
Service was extremely slow this visit, but the food came out hot.
Dunkin’ Donuts
Virginia Beach, VAThe drive-thru staff wasn't eager to help, and service felt rushed. However, the sausage and cheese croissant was surprisingly delicious and large.
